Teen Summer Reading 2022

Teens and tweens grades six through twelve are invited to join us for our 2022 Teen Summer Reading program, featuring in-person and virtual events, reading and activity challenges, and more! Teen Summer Reading starts on June 21st and runs through July 29th.

To find out about all the cool events you can take a part in, visit our event calendar.

You can follow us on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook to get all the latest news on programs and services.

To register in person, find the sign up table in the Teen Zone starting June 21st. Alternatively, to register online, visit bit.ly/MPLteenstack. Just be sure to swing by the library and pick up your registration goodie bag!

Log Your Reading and Activities

You can log your reading using our paper log, the Beanstack website, or the Beanstack Tracker app. This year, we’re logging days instead of minutes or books. Get a new badge for every five days you read!

There are also activity challenges this year, ranging from “attend a teen program at the library” to “find five different bugs outside.” Cross off each activity on the paper log, or check them off in Beanstack, as you go. Complete half of the activities per challenge to get the badge.

To complete the program, you will need to get your Camping, Kayak, and Naturalist badges. Paper logs are due by 5pm on Friday, July 29th

Attend Programs

Did you know that in addition to our reading and activity challenges, we also have fun events happening each week? Visit our events calendar to learn more about Mini-Field Day, S’Mores Houses, ImagArena, Cupcake Challenge, and Henna at the Library! Registration for each program is required.

Win Prizes

For each reading or activity badge you unlock, come to the library and get a matching button!

As you participate in summer reading, earn tickets toward the following three raffles:
– A $25 gift card to The Book Oasis bookstore in Stoneham.
– A $25 gift card to Kennedy’s Ice Cream Bar.
– A $5 gift card to Yara Chocolate.
