Significant Short Fiction Discussion Group

Significant Short Fiction Discussion Group

– Third Wednesday of the month, 2:00 to 3:30pm

This group currently meets on the third Wednesday of every month to discuss short stories.  Readers are working their way through 100 Years of the Best American Short Stories (Lorrie Moore, Editor).

New attendees are always welcome!

August Hiatus – the book group will be on hiatus for the month of August but will return for the September meeting at the Milano Center!

September Meeting: Wednesday, September 21, 2022 – 2:00 PM – at the Milano Center (201 W Foster St Melrose) – In Person/Zoom Hybrid Meeting

September short stories being discussed:

  • “The Girl on the Plane” by Mary Gaitskill
  • “Xuela” by Jamaica Kincaid

The Library will be closed for renovation; the Milano Center has generously offered us use of a room for the meeting during the construction period.  Please check in at the front door.

To accommodate those who can’t attend in person, a Zoom meeting will run simultaneously, please sign up online for the September meeting so the library can anticipate the number of attendees.  Regardless of how you will be attending, you will receive the link in your confirmation email for Zoom access.

Please contact Erin at melcirc@noblenet.org if you have any questions or have questions about how to get the stories!
