MPL Teen Room

Welcome to the Melrose Public Library Teen Room!
The Teen Room is a space for teens ages 11-18 to use library computers and Wi-Fi,
study and visit with friends, and browse the Young Adult collection.
Programs
Teen Gaming!
April 7th 4:00-5:00pm: Teen Switch Gaming – Come play our NEW Nintendo Switch 2 at our next Teen Switch Gaming Event! We’ll have Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros with plenty of controllers. Snacks will be provided! Registration is open now, register online.
April 24th 3:00-4:30pm: Board Game Afternoon – Spend the afternoon at the Library eating snacks and playing board games! For teens ages 11-18. Registration opens April 9th, register online.
Teen Craft Time!
April 15th 4:00-5:00pm: Shrinky Dinks – Create miniature art with Shrinky Dinks! You will design art with markers and then we’ll magically shrink it (with a toaster oven). Registration opens April 1st, register online.
April 23rd 3:00-4:00pm: Candy Sushi – Learn how to make sushi look-alikes out of rice krispies and candy! Registration opens April 9th, register online.
Teen Volunteering!
April 28th 4:00-5:00pm: Volunteer at the library and earn community service hours! Teen volunteers (ages 11-18) will help the library by cutting bookmarks, folding brochures, and assembling library card registration packets. Registration opens April 1st, register online.
Teen Study Space

On most Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30-5pm, teens ages 11-18 can use the Youth Services Program Room for quiet studying, reading, or quiet group project work. Drop-in, stay for a chunk of time or the entire session. No registration necessary!
Book Displays
Stop by the Teen Room this month to see our displays for:
- Books You’ll Fall In Love With (YA romance novels)
- Women’s History Month Celebration (YA books featuring strong female characters)
- Start a New Manga or Graphic Novel Series! (the first book of popular graphic novel series)
