Meeting Room Requests
Meeting Rooms
Melrose residents who are members of a Melrose non-profit, civic, cultural, or educational group may request a space for group members to conduct organization business. An active library card in good standing is required to complete the application.
Please note, groups planning a public event should not request space using this page. Groups interested in asking the library to host a program or event should fill out the Melrose Public Library Program Proposal Application. All programs/events held in library meeting spaces are chosen and hosted by the library.
Meeting rooms cannot be used for private, business, commercial, or fundraising purposes. Examples of private meetings include interviews, family meetings, social gatherings, or condo association meetings.
All room requests require advanced planning on your part. Reservations must be made a minimum of 7 days in advance. Reservations may be made a maximum of 2 months in advance. All reservation requests are tentative until approved by staff. Under no circumstances will a reservation be made at a Service Desk.
Please click on the desired room on the right side of this page to complete the room reservation application.
The Library’s event calendar cannot be used to determine room availability (rooms booked by community groups are not listed on the public calendar). To view room availability, click on your room of choice and proceed with your request or view Meeting Room availability or Trustees Room availability.
Access to the meeting spaces is limited to Library operating hours (M-Th 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fri – Sat 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sun 2-5pm). All meeting participants must exit the meeting space at least 15 minutes prior to the building’s closing time. Library doors will be locked promptly at close of business.
Use of meeting rooms for library purposes shall take precedence over all other uses. Library staff shall have the right to cancel, reschedule or transfer meeting room locations or dates that conflict with library sponsored meetings, programs and/or special events. In such cases, staff will make their best effort to give advance notice.
Courtesy to Library staff is expected at all times. Use of the meeting rooms is subject to compliance with the Meeting Room Policy and the Standards of Conduct Policy.
Please be aware that the library has limited parking.
