QUIET STUDY ROOMS

QUIET STUDY ROOMS

Quite Study Rooms are available by reservation only using a valid library card on our website, by phone, or at the Main Desk. For immediate use, a reservation must be made at the Main Desk.

The Library has two “quiet study” rooms on the Main Level of the building. These spaces are intended for Melrose patrons who desire a quiet, separate space as well as patrons who may be needing to converse with others in person or online and do not wish to disturb patrons in the general spaces.

If available, we ask that individual patrons use the smaller space in the historic section of the building (Room 216), so that the larger space (Room 206) is available for groups.

Reservations can be made online with a library card from two weeks beforehand, in increments of 15 minutes up to 2 hours.

Reservations must be placed with the library card of the person who will be using the space. Patrons are limited to one reservation per day, up to 10 per month.

When arriving at the library, check in at the Main Desk for a placard that says “Reserved” to place on the door.

Food is not allowed in the quiet study rooms.  Securely covered drinks are acceptable.

Reservations that are not filled within 15 minutes of the start time may be released to make the space available to others.
